The free and the fixed geodetic boundary value problems are solved for a non-spherical surface of the Earth. Rigorously the "solutions", called the generalized Stokes's formula and the generalized Hotine's formula, respectively, are integral equations for Molodensky-type boundary value problems. However, they lend themselves to successive approximations. Moreover, for a spherical boundary the solutions become the classical Stokes's and Hotine's formulas.
