The newly commissioned 39 foot planetarium at BYU serves a dual role of public outreach and college student instruction. It was acoustically designed to suppress echos while still giving an excellent dome projection surface. We report on the planetarium structure itself and what we have learned from two years of using it as a college classroom. We also report on the plans for its future use as a classroom and developmental theater for education-oriented computer animations.
