The Geant4 simulation toolkit provides a wide variety of physics models which describe interactions of elementary particles and ions with matter in a broad range of energy. In this article, an overview of an activity in Japan to apply the toolkit for simulation of hadrontherapy is given. Also an experiment to collect ion-matter interaction data applying the emulsion technique to validate Geant4 physics models is introduced.
