Scientific paper

The authors show that in a gauge theory with gauge hierarchy, a long-range attractive feeble force can arise in general within the framework of perturbative field theory. The force is the result of the existence of a Higgs boson whose mass and matter couplings are both naturally suppressed by powers of the hierarchical scale ratio. Some simple but realistic examples are used to demonstrate this mechanism.
