We report on our new (sub)arcsecond mm-data of four active galaxies taken with the IRAM Plateau de Bure interferometer. These observations give a unique insight into the molecular gas dynamics in the mediate vicinity of active galactic nuclei. The molecular gas shows in its CO line emission various structures from large to small scales. Even for distant sources - like the nearest QSO I Zw 1 - the gas line emission can be mapped till radii of about 15 kpc showing spiral arms in the host galaxy. In addition we find dynamical evidence for a kpc-scale circumnuclear ring. Observed with higher resolution NGC 7469 (Seyfert 1) shows two tightly twisted spiral arms forming a circumnuclear ring (Genzel 1995). NGC 7469 also has a molecular gas bar along which molecular material is probably transported towards the nucleus. In the nearby Seyfert 2 NGC 1068 and at the same distance the Seyfert 1 galaxy NGC 3227 we were able to obtain data with an angular resolution of about 0.6 '' corresponding to about 50 pc. In both nuclei the molecular gas arranges itself in ring-like structures with diameters of about 200 pc. The study of the gas kinematics in NGC 3227 revealed that the bulge of this gas is on circular orbits around the active nucleus. This means that the transport efficiency of molecular material down to the pc-scale is not very large. A small amount of gas is detected at the position of the dynamical center which might be responsible for fueling the nucleus.
