X-ray and gamma radiation of the earth's atmosphere in the range 28 keV to 4.4 MeV was studied by the satellite Kosmos-461. The radiation energy spectrum was measured, and geomagnetic dependences of intensity in the continuous spectrum and in the 0.511 MeV line were determined. In measurements carried out aboard Kosmos-135, data were obtained on the altitude dependence of the flux of atmospheric gamma quanta.
