We present a method for the deconvolution of ASCA satellite spectral-imaging data. This is necessary due to the complicated energy and spatial variation of the point-spread function at different points across the satellite's mirrors. We apply our procedure to a sample of over 100 clusters of galaxies to determine the general intrinsic physical properties of the intracluster medium. From this we show that clusters generally exhibit isothermal temperature profiles, rather than the ubiquitous declines found by Markevitch etal. Finally, we also determine gravitational mass radial profiles for a smaller subsample of clusters and discuss their implications for cosmology.
