Post-Flare Loops

By using high spatial resolution TRACE EUV observations we show that hot (≍2 MK) post-flare loops are fuzzier than the cooler (≍1 MK) ones. A simple 0d model of a cooling loop arcade, where different loops in the arcade start to cool down at slightly different initial conditions, is sufficient to reproduce qualitatively the observed behavior of the EUV post-flare loops.
