It is pointed out that the results of an experiment performed by Partridge (1973) for a different reason, can be interpreted as setting a limit to the future variation of Planck's constant over cosmological times. Certain considerations in the quantum absorber theory discussed by Hoyle and Narlikar (1968, 1969) indicate the possibility of measuring future universal behavior by experiments conducted in the present. On the basis of Partridge's data an upper limit to the variation of Planck's constant of about one part in a quintillion per year is obtained.
