Cosmic Rays: Solar Modulation
Scientific paper
The energy spectrum of the eleven-year variation of the neutron component of cosmic rays is found to have a constant form up to an upper effective rigidity boundary, then it sharply drops to zero. The time delay of cosmic rays relative to solar activity is estimated and found to decrease with increasing rigidity. Magnetic field strength of scattering inhomogeneities is also estimated and found to be in good agreement with direct measurements. The dimensions of the modulation region are found to increase when the rigidity decreases. The modulation process is found to be a quasistationary one.
