Fractals are commonplace in describing various physical phenomena. The essential idea behind fractal geometry, self similarity, is applied to the Universe. The smallest possible element, a virtual particle pair of the zero point field, is hypothesized to be self-similar to the Universe as a whole. This allows an interpretation of the matter/anti-matter asymmetry and the dark matter problem.
