Scientific paper

The paper deals with a four-impulse round-trip flight between two gravitating points that move about a central attracting body along arbitrarily oriented Kepler orbits. Each leg of the mission is limited to two impulses. The mission is subjected to time constraints. The energy consumption is minimized, describing it in terms of an impulse function of rather general form. An optimization algorithm proposed by Ufimtsev (1973) is shown to be well suited for calculating the parameters of optimal interplanetary trajectories.
