THIS TEST MEASURES THE RELATIVE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE FOS/BL 4.3 AND GHRS LARGE SCIENCE APERTURES IN THE V2-V3 SPACE. IF THIS DISTANCE IS KNOWN TO BETTER THAN 0.3 ARCSEC, A BLIND OFF-SET WITH THE SAME GUIDE STARS CAN BE PERFORMED FROM THE FOS TO THE GHRS. THIS CAPABILITY MAY BE USED FOR TARGETS WHICH ARE TOO FAINT TO BE ACQUIRED WITH THE GHRS. SUCH TARGETS COULD BE ACQUIRED WITH THE FOS AND THE SCIENCE OBSERVATIONS BE DONE WITH THE GHRS. 3 STARS WILL BE ACQUIRED WITH THE FOS, USING A BINARY ACQUISITION, AND AN IMAGE OF THE 4.3 APERTURE WILL BE TAKEN. THEN A SLEW TO THE LSA WILL BE PERFORMED AND AN IMAGE OF THE LSA WILL BE TAKEN. THE EXPECTATION IS TO FIND THE TARGETS TO BE WELL WITHIN THE LSA. HOWEVER, AS A CONTINGENCY, WE WILL ALSO DO A 3X3 SPIRAL SEARCH. THE TARGETS WILL BE CENTERED IN THE LSA WITH A PEAKUP, AND A SLEW BACK TO THE FOS WILL BE DONE. A CONFIRMATION IMAGE WITH THE 4.3" APERTURE CONCLUDES THIS TEST.
