X-ray emulsion chamber data obtained at an altitude of 30 km are analyzed. It is shown that there is a significant probability of eta(0)-meson generation in the fragmentation region in hadron-nucleus interactions at energies above 50 TeV. The energy spectrum of these eta-mesons is harder than that of pions, and the mean transverse momentum of the eta-mesons is almost twice that of pions. The ratio of eta-mesons to that of the observed pions was 0.7 + or 0.2.
