A daytime model of the earth-ionosphere system (without constraints on the electron density profile) is used to obtain an approximation for the dependence of the propagation parameters of the first VLF mode (18-40 kHz) on the frequency and propagation parameters of the zero mode (8-16 kHz). This approximation makes it possible to determine the near field from a given far field, i.e., to forecast the VLF field. This result is achieved by a statistical method.
