Starting from the meson-meson Green function in 3+1 dimensional quenched
lattice QCD we calculate potentials between heavy-light mesons for various
light-quark mass parameters. For the valence quarks we employ the staggered
scheme. The resulting potentials turn out to be short ranged and attractive. A
comparison with a tadpole improved action for the gauge fields is presented.
