Measurements of cosmic-ray electron fluxes at sea level were carried out at the Novosibirsk station during 1981-1982 using two types of parallel gas-filled counters: one for the 50-500 keV range and one for the 0.2-1 MeV range. The features characterizing the use of gas-filled counters for the measurement of cosmic rays at sea level are examined, and measurement results are analyzed. Finally, the role of the energy range studied in ion production is assessed.
