I propose that history is a network of quantum jumps. The universe
begins as a single point. It multiplies by fission into a chaotic but
causally ordered phase of indeterminate dimensionality. This in turn
condenses into our ambient vacuum. Only then does inertia arise, as a
macroscopic quantum effect.
