A multistate molecular expansion is developed to describe the charge transfer of O(3+) ions with neutral hydrogen atoms in which the individual fine-structure levels of the initial O(3+) ion and the product of O(2+) states are taken into account. The coupled scattering equations are solved, and cross sections are obtained for charge transfer excitation at energies near 1 eV.
