It is shown under which conditions, at very high densities, such as those
that may be found in the interior of a neutron star, a ferromagnetic phase
transition could occur, induced by a four fermion interaction analogous to the
one which is responsible for chiral symmetry breaking in the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio
model.
