Halo-type cosmic-ray interactions were studied using two types of X-ray emulsion chambers (with light material and with lead) and an ionization chamber. Integral energy spectra were obtained for 495 electron-photon cascades. The gamma-ray spectra from the observed interactions are described by an exponential law, supporting the hypothesis that the observed cascades are not just the result of the development of electromagnetic showers in the atmosphere.
