We propose to observe five faint persistent X-ray sources with XMM. These sources are part of a sub- class of X-ray sources for which little is known. Our proposed observations will allow for a study of the broad-band and detailed energy spectral characteristics, a search for dips and/or eclipses that help constrain the yet unknown binary parameters as well as provide for an accurate position determination.
