Numerical relativity is the only tool that we have presently to study
relativistic configurations under time dependent and non-symmetric
condition. The authors use this technique here to study the onset of
inflation under inhomogeneous initial conditions. It is found that a
large initial inhomogeneity can prevent inflation.
