A program is planned at the new ISAC radioactive beams facility at TRIUMF to study key radiative capture (proton and alpha) reactions important for explosive nuclear astrophysics events involving radioactive reactants. The ISAC facility will produce a wide range of exotic beams with energies from 0.15 to 1.5 MeV/u, and with projected intensities sufficient to perform such studies. These reactions will be studied using inverse kinematics with an extended gas target coupled to a recoil mass spectrometer to differentiate the desired product from the more intense beam. A gamma array around the target will provide a timing signal from the coincident prompt gamma. Various detection approaches of the recoils (E>=0.1 MeV/u) will be utilized including time of flight. The benchmark reaction pursued is ^4He(^15O,^19Ne)γ the desired background/beam suppression factor is 10^15. A status report of the project will be presented.
