We propose to obtain long-term light curves and spectra of the bright SNeIa progenitor candidate QU Carinae, which was recently found to exhibit V Sge-like bright/faint states. Those states are intimately connected to the accretion wind evolution scenario which explains the increase of the white dwarf mass to a Chandrasekhar limit. With the new data we will determine the duration of the wind cycle gaining an insight on the nature and variability of the different emission regions of the system and the presence/strength/character of the outflow during the cycle. This work will provide observational constraints on theoretical models allowing for an accurate determination of the process and conditions that lead to a SNeIa explosion.
