The key problem of magnetic reconnection phenomena is the possibility and conditions for the formation of current sheets (CS) in 3-D magnetic configurations. It is of a great importance both for astrophysics (solar flares, magnetospheric substorms...) and for laboratory produced plasmas (disruptions in tokomaks..). Previous experiments [1-3] allowed to reveal the CS formation in configurations containing either isolated null-points or X-type lines. The device "CS-3D" gives an opportunity to produce 3-D magnetic configurations of different topology with a gradual transition between them. The results are presented on the peculiarities of the CS formation in dependence on the configuration type. Parameters of CS and of plasmas compressed into 3-D sheets are analyzed and discussed.
