A large scale comet simulation, with samples of gas-laden amorphous water ice 10 cm thick and a diameter of 20 cm, was carried out. Chaotic terrain and irregular depressions, such as found on comets Wild-2 and Temple-1, were formed as a result of massive gas release during the warming up of the gas-laden ice sample. The measured density- 0.3 gr cm^-3, tensile strength~ 170 Pa and thermal inertia- 80 W m^-2 K^-1 sec^1/2 were found to be very similar to those found by Deep-Impact: 0.6 gr cm^-3 (including mineral and organic dust), ~100 Pa and ≤ 100 W m^-2 K^-1 sec^1/2.
