We must have an understanding of the equilibrium properties of
magnesite-siderite (seen in ALH84001) under changing temperature,
pressure, O2 fugacity, and CO2 fugacity conditions. Piston cylinder
experiments on the reaction FeCO3 + Fe2O3 = Fe3O4 + CO2 will be
presented.
