We examine the problem of the passage of an incident localized packet of Alfvén waves through the ionosphere and of its transformation into MHD-oseillations of a waveguide produced by the ionospheric F2-layer maximum of electron density. A numerical algorithm is obtained for investigating such a problem for various models of the ionosphere with arbitrary vertical stratification of its parameters.
