The evolution of the Geminids is studied on the basis of photographic observations. Orbital phase distances in the shower and the dispersion of orbital elements were analyzed for different epochs. It is shown that the Geminids shower originated not earlier than 1000 years ago, and that the shower is accessible to observation only during one approach to the earth over 200-300 years.
