The evolution characteristics of the fine-structure of AR4811 and the associated flare activity are analysed by using the high-space-resolution photographic observations of the sunspot group and Hα chromosphere obtained with the first high-resolution photospheric and chromospheric telescope in China. It is pointed out that (1) the newly emerging magnetic flux with the same polarities as those of the original magnetic fields plays an important role in the course of the evolution of the spot group but has no greater contributions to the flare activity, (2) the frequent activity of the related filaments is an indication of flares and (3) the simultaneous co-existence of the mutual extrusion, shearing and rotation of the magnetic fields with opposite polarities is a possible mechanism of the storage of energy.
