The paper examines the evidence of gravity waves at E-region heights. An analysis of electron density fluctuations of sporadic-E structures which last several hours without appreciable change in height and are associated with large scale TID's is presented for a latitudinal chain of five ionospheric stations in the Southern Hemisphere. The existence of traveling disturbances at the E-region affecting Es layers is observed; the disturbances have a propagational velocity of 250 and 600 m/sec toward the equator. The power spectra analysis of data shows few discrete frequencies and a broad band; comparison of discrete spectra components among stations demonstrate that the wave period grows linearly with the distance from the source.
