A method for calculating delays of short-wave signals on extended paths is developed which is suitable for F-region conditions and can be employed to study radio-communication systems that use the ionosphere as a transmission channel. Results are presented for a number of specific paths, including Alaska-Kiruna (18 MHz) and Moscow-Molodezhnaia (21 MHz).
