Cosmic Rays: Protons, Cosmic Rays: Energy Spectra

Scientific paper

The energy spectra of cosmic ray positrons produced by the interaction of primary protons based on direct measurements at the top of the atmosphere has been estimated by using the CERN pp interaction machine results of Aguilar-Benitez et al. (1991) for charged pion production. The standard formulation of Badhwar et al. (1975) has been used for the evaluation of positron abundance. The derived energy spectrum of positrons have been found in accord with observed results.
