Ephemerides of the Solar System’s objects are calculated using dynamical models fitted to observations. The accuracy of these ephemerides can be estimated using statistical methods. The methods consist in constructing a set of possible orbits, based on observations. One of these methods, the bootstrap method of repeated sampling, has many advantages: minimal assumptions about distributions of observational errors, easy implementation, etc.
