Using a second-class V, A weak neutral current, we have calculated the
rate of energy loss in stellar bodies through the photoneutrino
processes on protons. We find that at temperatures of the order of
1011K, the energy-loss rate compares with the rate calculated
in the unified SU(2) × U(1) theory of Salam and Weinberg.
