Recordings of energetic electron fluxes at high and mid-latitudes in the upper magnetosphere are discussed. It is shown that the recordings of substantial electron fluxes at the interface with the daytime polar cusp, facing the equator, are consistent with the hypothetical assumption of a branching of charged-particle longitudinal drift shells and with possible capture at high-latitude geomagnetic field intensity minima.
