On March 12, 2008, the Cassini spacecraft passed through the south polar plume of Enceladus. We present observations from the electron spectrometer (ELS) of the CAPS instrument obtained during this event. Several unanticipated features were observed. We present our interpretations of these features as well as their causes. We also make testable predictions regarding the CAPS-ELS observations within the plume during future flybys.
