A telescope cage attached by tension rods to the upper ring of the telescope tube is examined. It is assumed that the cage and the upper ring of the telescope tube are absolutely rigid bodies, that the conically arranged tension rods interconnecting them exhibit elastic pliability, and that the direction of the gravitational force on the cage is arbitrary relative to the optical axis of the telescope. The condition necessary to eliminate elastic swings of the cage is defined.
