Generalized expressions are derived for the description of electron kinetics (i.e., the behavior of electron density N) in an ionized atmosphere in conditions of repeated air breakdown. An analysis of the kinetic equations describing variations in time of N, the density of positive ions, and the density of negative ions shows that the behavior of N can be reduced to two simplified but physically well-founded variants.
