Electron fluxes in the Enceladus plume are modeled using a two-stream code and compared with observations made by the CAPS - ELS instrument onboard Cassini. We assume a neutral atmosphere for the plume in agreement with Cassini Ion and Neutral Mass Spectrometer (INMS) data. The neutrals are ionized or excited by electron impact or by absorption of solar photons. We compare the ionization rates with the rate of charge exchange of the plume neutrals with the corotating magnetospheric water group ions. Boundary conditions for the magnetospheric electrons are given by measurements and models of the E-ring. The effect of the opacity of the plume to incoming solar radiation is also explored. Finally, we calculate the thermal electron temperature in the plume and analyze the heating effect of the hot suprathermal population.
