Scientific paper

Cross sections of electron deceleration by atomic oxygen and molecular nitrogen are calculated which are necessary for determining photoelectron fluxes in the F-region. Calculations are based on data obtained by Brook et al. (1978), Jackman et al. (1977), and Thomas and Nisbet (1975) concerning cross sections of the ionization and excitation of oxygen atoms by electron impact.
