The Faraday electron (NF) content over Tucuman, Argentina, was determined from ATS 3 and GOES 3 measurements conducted between April 1982 and March 1983 near the maximum of the second highest solar cycle. The NF over Tucuman was found to be characterized by a day-to-day temporal variability, semiannual variation, equatorial anomaly influence, different behaviors during magnetic storms, and occasional postsunset second maximum. In comparison to other stations, including Hamilton (Massachusetts, U.S.), Haifa (Israel), and Ascension Island, it was found that the maximum value of NF has a similar order of magnitude, but occurs later than at other stations. The winter anomaly was observed only at Northern Hemisphere stations.
