The ATLAS Forward Calorimeter (FCal) modules have been exposed to beams of electrons, pions, and muons within the energy range of 5 GeV ⩽ E ⩽ 200 GeV at the CERN SPS, in Geneva, Switzerland. These modules are unique calorimeters with fine transverse segmentation allowing for a significant improvement in the hadronic resolution and reconstructed energy. Presented in this paper are leptonic performance results. Also included are the hadronic performance results using a transverse weighting technique.
