The BTeV experiment at Fermilab will install an electromagnetic calorimeter built of Lead Tungstate crystals instrumented with photomiltiplier tubes, to provide excelent energy and position resolution, compact shower size, and radiation hardness. Variations of light collections will be controlled via contiuous calibration. Combined with refined reconstruction tools this will ensure excelent detection of and π0's which is crucial to studies of CP violations in B decays and rare decays of B's to explore physics beyond the Standard Model. Test beam studies have been carried out under conditions close to what is expected in BTeV to prove that the requirements can be met.
