Trough-like plasma structures in the high-latitude ionosphere near the polar cap boundary are investigated with EISCAT CP3 data and in-situ satellite observations. Emphasis is placed on one interesting event occurring in the morning sector during the recovery phase of a moderate magnetic storm. The event features are probably ionospheric signatures of cusp processes caused by magnetic reconnection on the dayside magnetopause.
