In the present interpretation of observed opacity indices in the sub-mm and mm-wavelength regions of T Tauri stars' circumstellar disks, it is shown that circumstellar dust particle growth can explain the difference in power law indices beta between interstellar and circumstellar dust particles. Mie calculations were conducted to obtain the particle opacity curves of sufficiently grown dust particles of cm-or-greater size, as well as of submicronic dust size. Low beta can be due to the superposition of small and large particles.
