A ratio between the relative abundances of the groups of platinum (75 <= Z <= 79) and lead (80 <= Z <= 83) has been extracted from a published sample of 270 galactic cosmic rays from the Ultra Heavy Cosmic Ray Experiment after carrying out a process of partial deconvolution. The ratio obtained is compared with the ratio corresponding to a solar system-like source composition and found to be significantly higher. This result, compatible with previous experiments, suggests a contribution of the r-process to cosmic ray abundances.
