Published data of tensor analysing powers in (d,t) and (d, 3He) reactions are re-analysed using deuteron optical potentials which include TR tensor terms. The estimated value of the D-state parameter D2=-0.22+/-0.02 fm2, is the same for both the triton and 3He and is consistent with theoretically predicted values.
