The SC effect was observed on the background of a daytime wideband burst of emission at 2.5-9 kHz with a maximum amplitude in the 4.0 kHz channel. SC is found to produce significant changes in the resonance excitation conditions of the VLF emission. The degree of the SC effect depends on the location of the cyclotron-instability-excitation region and the preliminary high-energy-electron filling of L shells to which the emitting particles are shifted. It is concluded that the magnitude of magnetic disturbances in the region where emission is generated can be roughly estimated according to variations of the boundary frequencies at the moment of SC occurrence.
